Hi, I’m Jacob Rodriguez — husband, dad, pastor, and unapologetic coffee enthusiast. I was born and raised in San Jose, California, and I’ve spent my life surrounded by faith, family, and the church. As a fifth-generation Apostolic believer and third-generation pastor, ministry runs deep in my roots. But more than heritage, it’s become my heartbeat — helping people discover their God-given purpose and live it out with passion.

At twelve years old, I felt the undeniable call to preach. My father, Bishop Joseph V. Rodriguez, began to mentor me and shape my ministry journey. By sixteen, I preached my first sermon, and by twenty-one, I was ordained into the ministry. Just a year later, I published my first book, The Woman’s Touch, becoming one of the youngest authors in the Apostolic Assembly. Since then, God has opened doors for me to write, preach, and minister to people across the nation and around the world.

In 2013, with a dream in my heart and faith in my spirit, I planted CityLight Church in Mountain View, California — a church born out of prayer, vision, and the desire to bring the light of Christ to the heart of Silicon Valley. Watching God grow our church family from the ground up has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

I’ve also had the privilege of serving in youth ministry and leadership for many years, including roles as Leadership Coordinator, Secretary, and later President of the National Messengers of Peace. Today, I serve as Director of the Northern Pacific Coast Bible College in San Jose, helping equip the next generation of Apostolic leaders.

But above all, I’m a husband to my incredible wife Cherie, and together we’ve been married for over 23 years. We have two amazing teenagers — Makai and Chloe — who are both actively involved in ministry. As a family, we love serving together, sharing good food, making memories, and finding the best local coffee spots.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that God writes the best stories — stories of redemption, purpose, and hope. My passion is to help others see that truth for themselves and discover the light God has placed within them.
